Hospice Simcoe Volunteers are a team of skilled and dedicated people who enhance the quality of life for our clients and their families who are faced with a life threatening illness or grieving the loss of a loved one.
Volunteer Opportunities
You can to make a difference by becoming involved in one of the many volunteer opportunities at Hospice Simcoe:
- Interact directly with patients and their families in the community or at Hospice House
- Assist on the fundraising and special events team
- Support clients in our family kitchen
- Bereavement
- Education about loss and bereavement
- Share your talents in one of our various administration areas
Volunteer Eligibility
Due to the sensitive nature of our work, we are committed to ensuring that all volunteers are fully screened and trained prior to working directly with our clients. We offer training and support through our eight-week Fundamentals of Palliative Care Course. All volunteers who interact with our community and residential clients are required to complete this course. On-going training is also available through conferences, lunch and learns and community workshops.

- Grief And Bereavement Support: Bereavement One-on-One Support, Community Resources, Support Groups, Phone or On-line Support and Community Education About Loss And Bereavement
- Fundraising: Events and Speaking and Awareness
How To Become A Volunteer
To become a member of our volunteer team, please complete our on-line 
Volunteer Application form. Please allow for two weeks response time for telephone follow-up to your application.
